Osiris and Isis by Sanio Osiris and Isis by Sanio
Hello Everybody! :D

So I started to draw an Egyptian queen and it transformed into goddess Hator and then into Isis and Osiris...It's my first of many deity arts I'm going to do. Of course, it will be only Egyptian gods, cuz I'm a huge fanatic about them! :D

*This drawing has been redrawn because old Osiris and Isis were pain in my neck, something wasn't how I wanted, so I redraw them and even add little baby Horus*

I didn't draw my typical Egyptian dress (white dress) but I tried to make a dress that is seen in reality, on temple walls. I also know that the horned crown on Isis head is actually the crown of goddess Hator but Isis is sometimes depicted with that crown too...

Osiris is an Egyptian god, usually identified as the god of the afterlife, the underworld and the dead.
Isis was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the matron of nature and magic. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, and the downtrodden, and she listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats, and rulers. Isis is the goddess of motherhood, magic and fertility.

Still don't know if I should put a warning because Isis’s breasts can be seen! :/
Anyway…
Hope You like it! :D
Which divine pair should I do next? Amun and Mut? Hator and Horus? Sekhmet and Ptah?

Gorgeous! But Isis has the wrong headdress on. This is Hathor's hat.
Sorry, just wanted to pint it out.
:D Love your work!

Thank you!
Well she is usually depicted with her ''throne'' headdress but there are few wall paintings or sculptures that show her with the ''horned'' headdress.

I love your coloring. It fits very well with the picture. Osiris has a nice friendly not-dead smile too. :D

Okay after looking at all of these its time to comment. Speaking as someone with an archaeology background and have participated in digs in Egypt a few time I have to say BRAVO! I love how you have taken the classic art of the ancient, kept the rigidness of the style and yet released them just enough to bring out personality and free-form. Clearly you must be a student of the ancient culture as well to use the colors you have and well as the scenes. I love the slight "animated" touch as well. There are a few of your works I expect the characters from Disney's Emperors new Groove" to just walk into the picture.

All around:   for the themes style,  for use of color and light and         for original art style.

When I would put all of my gods and goddesses on one picture, all the goddesses are tall and slender, and Isis was small and fat! And for Osiris, he was to cartoonish! :/ So I redraw them and I must say that I really love this piece! :)

'I don't know why but I didn't draw shoes for him.'

Egyptian gods are almost always portrayed barefoot.

Isis' sandals don't quite look authentic, I'm afraid. But it's still a really nice picture.

Actually I think those feet really aren't bad. I have seen much worse draw feet on DA.

What do you think, about Geb and Nut, should I draw them in their typical positions, Geb lying down and Nut flying above, or should I draw them like this drawing? :)

hhmm, I am confused. Maybe the typical position is better :D. Btw have you read Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan?

It is a fictional trilogy about Sadie and Carter Kane, who are supposedly the descendants of some great Pharaoh. The stories based on Egyptian mythologies, and particularly feature Egyptian gods.

You can read some explanations here: [link]

It is the same genre of novel like harry potter or percy jackson (actually the author of percy jackson and this novel is the same)

Sekhmet would be pretty cool. Also, if you're going to put in a realistic background, it would be cool if you took the deities one step further and gave them a little bit of shading.

Thnx! I was thinking about shading...something is missing here, and I'll probably add some shadows! ;)
